Today is the beginning of National Zookeeper Week. This week we recognize the hard work and dedication of animal care professionals across the country!

Animal Care professionals work 365 days a year, in all seasons and weather conditions to make sure the animals in their care receive the best care.

What you may not know is that a zookeeper's day consists of much more than simply feeding, cleaning and caring for animals. Zookeepers play an integral role in educating guests about rare and endangered animals, planning and assisting in exhibits, maintaining detailed daily records and participating in breeding and conservation programs.
